Open Lecture: Application of the ECHR in Ukraine: Challenges, Perspectives and Peculiarities

In the framework of the EURASIA – European Law educational cooperation Oslo – Ukraine, the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights and the Faculty Research Group Human Rights, Armed Conflicts, and the Law of Peace and Security are hosting this open lecture by Professor Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva.

Professor Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva will deliver an open lecture on " Application of the ECHR in Ukraine: Challenges, Perspectives and Peculiarities". In 1995 Ukraine became a full Member of the Council of Europe and signatory party to the ECHR. However, until today it faces a lot of difficulties related to the application of the ECHR standards in its domestic legal order. The national doctrine on application of the international legal norms, as well as legislative, executive and judiciary practices of the ECHR implementation in Ukraine will be set on the agenda for discussion during this lecture. A particular attention will be paid to the ECHR as an instrument to protect human rights during the armed conflict in Ukraine.
