From 2007, the Indonesia Programme has cooperated with the Indonesian Judicial Commission on research and capacity-building activities.
The Judicial Commission was established in 2004 as an independent part of the supreme judicial power in Indonesia.
It is mandated to monitor the judiciary in order to maintain and ensure the honour, dignity and behaviour of judges, and to propose judges for the Supreme Court.
Through the cooperation with the Judicial Commission, the Indonesia Programme aims to adress judges' human rights obligations and enhance their ability to strenghten the transparency and predictability of the Indonesian judicial system.
