The book ‘Freedom of Expression in Islam: Challenging Apostacy and Blasphemy Laws’ critically and constructively engages with the theological, historical and legal reasoning behind the most restrictive state laws around the world to open up new ways of thinking. The book was officially launched in a digital event with distinguished experts today.

On the 7th December the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights hosted the Annual seminar on business and human rights as a part of the Oslo Peace Days. The annual seminar on business and human rights gives an opportunity for all stakeholders to come together and discuss the business and human rights field. This year, the panel was represented by academia, government, and civil society.

On 22 June the Research Group on Human Rights and Sustainable Development and the International Department at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights organized an internal seminar on the report titled “Understanding and mitigating social risks to sustainable development in China's BRI- Evidence from Nepal and Zambia.” The report was published by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in April 2021 and can be found here

The NCHR and partners recently organized a conference presenting two reports, focusing on the existing curricula on human rights at Bulgarian universities, and the introduction of human rights in mandatory legal curriculum in Bulgaria.

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute, the Norwegian Center for Human Rights, Åland Islands Peace Institute, and Galaxy Fund recently carried out a project on "SDG and human rights localization". It examines how local authorities and civil society organizations can cooperate in human rights localization processes, where local and subnational contexts are included and considered when implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
