The project promotes freedom of religion or belief in Orthodox Christian societies. Through internal Orthodox debate, it stimulates innovative reflections on the relation between Church and human rights. Several important fields of contemporary challenges have received limited theological and ecclesiastical attention. Encouraging dialogue in such fields, the project seeks to widen the scope of conversation.

The objective of the project is to spread knowledge of new ideas and strategies within Islamic reform thinking through the publication of books, academic articles and information.

The book ‘Freedom of Expression in Islam: Challenging Apostacy and Blasphemy Laws’ critically and constructively engages with the theological, historical and legal reasoning behind the most restrictive state laws around the world to open up new ways of thinking. The book was officially launched in a digital event with distinguished experts today.

PhD Course 3 ECTS/ Professional Training. While the course is primarily aimed at PhD candidates doing research on this area, it is also open to professionals (with different backgrounds) who have an interest or are working with issues concerning Freedom of Religion or Belief.
