The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) and our partner, the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (GA), will hold the ninth Training Workshop on UN Human Rights Mechanisms on 27—31 March 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. This workshop is for participants from the MENA countries only and will include regional perspectives.

Please join us for a discussion on the impact of UN human rights treaties and mechanisms at the domestic level, organized jointly by the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (University of Oslo) and the Centre for Human Rights (University of Pretoria) as part of a project funded by Diku’s UTFORSK programme.

Two Vietnamese academics were invited by NCHR and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights to attend an intensive training on Universal Periodic Review held in connection with the review of Vietnam before the UN Human Rights Council.

The seminar will address the role which domestic human rights actors play towards the UN Human Rights Treaty Body Review 2020 benchmark. Ministerial representatives, independent state institutions (National Human Rights Institutions and Ombudspersons) and civil society organizations have been invited to Oslo to share their experiences and discuss how to build a more effective UN Human Rights Treaty Body System for all stakeholders.
