Research focus

The Research Group provides a forum to discuss and study a wide range of international legal issues, including  

  • The content and evolution of public international law 
  • The interaction between international law and national/Norwegian law;
  • International private law; 
  • International criminal and humanitarian law
  • International economic law;  
  • International and regional human rights, including questions of non-state actors and right to self-determination
  • International law of migration; 
  • International and regional human rights;  
  • International organizations law;  
  • International environmental law, in particular climate change;  
  • Global commons, law of the sea and outer space law; 
  • EU/EEA law – both its substantive and institutional aspects 
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to international law.
