Meinich will give an overview over the (re)negotiation of the agreement on the accession of the European Union to the European Convention on Human Rights. She will first give an overview of the history and rationale for EU accession to the ECHR, and the Court of Justice of the European Union's objections to the 2013 draft accession agreement. Then she will outline how the negotiators have sought to overcome the CJEU's objections.
