Workshop

The workshop will concentrate on the merits and shortcomings of current IP regimes in light of the overarching societal goal of sustainability. We understand sustainability, or sustainable development, as ‘development that meets the needs of the present while safeguarding Earth’s life-support system, on which the welfare of current and future generations depends’. This is the grand challenges of our time: finding out how to secure the social foundation for people everywhere now and in the future, while staying within planetary boundaries. contributions aim at identifying problems as well as proposing solutions, including development of IP law and alternatives to IP protection.

The workshop covers a wide array of topics related to this overarching theme.
