About the group
The overall objective of the group is to develop and promote socio-legal research, through research collaborations, publications, meetings and events. Core themes for the research group are legal mobilization, law and technology, public sentiments on justice, the sociology of punishment and penal exports, refugee and migration law, legal responses in the aftermath of 22 July, and legal pluralism.
The group consists of researchers affiliated to the Faculty of Law and other research institutions. They apply both quantitative and qualitative approaches, and deal with national, Nordic, and global issues. The group members have different areas of expertise and specialize in topics such as refugee law, gender-based violence, legal consciousness, COVID-19 and the rule of law, and juridification in the context of digital transformation.
Ambitions
This research group aims to collect, increase and disseminate expertise on the interplay between law and society, and facilitate socio-legal research collaborations across faculties. An important goal for the group is to further develop teaching by involving students at the faculty.
