Abstract
Unprecedented changes in our socio-ecological systems require also a radical paradigmatic change in our understanding of value creation and the way it is measured and communicated in corporate reporting. Based on extensive research, the presentation provides an overview of the varying approaches and frameworks that have emerged over time in the reporting of corporate sustainability information. Drawing on the lessons learnt from the past and in the context of the new EU corporate sustainability reporting directive, five paradigmatic changes are proposed to rethink corporate reporting.
