Teaching and exams in the spring of 2022

This e-mail was sent students on 15 December.

Dear students

The latest Covid19 restrictions calls for us to reconsider our plans for the spring semester. It is an unpredictable situation, and it is demanding to make decisions that provide you with a sufficient predictability. We do not have all the answers today, and I ask for your understanding that we need time to find our conclusions.

Initially, we have decided that all lecture series starting before week 8 will be carried out digital in all study programs, so that those who start their lectures early January can plan accordingly.

We will have a teachers' meeting Monday 20 December and will give additional information to you on 21 December on decisions about your seminars the first part of the semester. We will also share our plans for when we will make our decisions about exams and teaching after week 8. I will ensure good involvement from the students through “Juridisk studentutvalg” (the Student Association), and general student meetings early in the semester.

The emails we send are also posted on https://www.jus.uio.no/english/studies/student-news/

It is a demanding time for students. Much of the freedom we have taken for granted has been taken away from you, and at present being a student is fundamentally different from what it should be. I still hope that you, despite the restrictions, can find joy in the Christmas holidays and that you all have someone to share it with.

All the best!

Marianne Jenum Hotvedt
Vice Dean for Studies
