PhD candidate Kevin McGillivray at the Department of Private Law will on Wednesday 17 August present his doctorate Project: "Compliance by Contract: the rise of governmental cloud procurement mechanisms and their impact on privacy and security in Cloud Computing".

The Private Law Consortium is a collaboration between scholars at six law schools – Bar Ilan, Harvard, McGill, Trento, University of Pennsylvania and University of Oslo.
In 2015, Daughters of Themis organised its first and highly successful workshop in Greece. In 2016, a lovely guesthouse on the island of Kea in Greece was selected as the venue, with the workshop proceedings held from Monday 30 May through Friday 3 June and with social events on Saturday 4 June, before closing of the workshop and return back home on Sunday 5 June. Also the 2016 workshop was a great success, as this report illustrates.
Papers from the 2016 workshop will be included in an edited volume, with Beate Sjåfjell and Irene Lynch-Fannon as editors.
Papers from the 2015 workshop are forthcoming in a special issue of the International and Comparative Corporate Journal, edited by Beate Sjåfjell and Roseanne Russell.

We have long discussed “digital footprint” and understand that the use of digital devices involves the automatic generation of data that is capable of revealing personal information. Our digital footprints are now everywhere. In addition to the automatically generated data, we also make our personal information available on social media. The combination of digital footprints and information provided on social media can be used to create a comprehensive and detailed picture of each person.
The title of this years memorial lecture, held by Professor Bert-Jaap Koops, is:"Bio-robotics and the survival of the human: on human rights, human enhancement, and (un) average persons."
The Scandinavian Workshop on e-Government is a forum for discussing current e-government research issues. The workshop is dedicated to open discussions about the current status of e-government research and future directions. The focus is thus on informal discussion rather than on formal conference presentations.
