"Entire Agreement clauses are regularly included in English commercial contracts. By setting out the written contract as an exclusive and preemptive expression of the parties’ agreement, the clause is a tool for achieving certainty in a contractual relationship. To some extent English judges interpret Entire Agreement clauses literally. However, when included in Norwegian contracts the legal effects are more uncertain. Can practitioners rely on the enforcement of Entire Agreement clauses under Norwegian law?

This paper sets out the legal effects of such clauses under English law before discussing their effects under the Norwegian legal regime.

The paper is written in Norwegian, and has an extensive summary in English."
