Doctorate on State Debt and Financial Markets awarded by Paris1 and Oslo to G Bianco

Giuseppe Bianco at Department of Private Law has been awarded a doctorat en droit from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Ph.D. in law from the University of Oslo under a co-tutelle agreement between the two universities.  The title of his thesis is "Restructuring Sovereign Debt: Private Creditors and International Law".

The viva and the preceding lecture on 1 December 2017 by Dr. Bianco were chaired in the Oslo University Old Hall by the Dean of the Oslo Faculty, Professor Dag Michalsen.

The lecture that Dr. Bianco delivered before the viva had the title "The development and consolidation of state immunity in international law".

The jury awarded the degree with "mention très honorable avec félicitations du jury".  The committee was chaired by Professor Inger Johanne Sand, University of Oslo, and members included Professor Attila Massimiliano Tanzi, Università degli Studi di Bologna, Professor Régis Bismuth, SciencesPo Law School, France, and Professor Jean-Marc Sorel, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.  Professor Hélène Ruiz Fabri Université Paris 1 and Director of the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law, and Professor Mads Andenas Oslo, had been supervisors.
