Free movement and the active welfare state

Welcome to lunch seminar on "Free movement and the active welfare state".

Presentation by Nicolas Rennuy, Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of York.

Abstract

Welfare states adopt activation policies to increase labour market participation. Nicolas Rennuy will discuss how such policies relate to EEA free movement law. For instance, can social security benefits be reserved to those who participate in a domestic rehabilitation programme, thus effectively preventing claimants from staying or residing abroad?
