Network of Excellence in Internet Science

Scientists in many different disciplines study the Internet. Yet, how can such scientists make optimal use of each other’s ideas and insights?  The Network of Excellence in Internet Science (EINS) addresses this challenge.

About the project

EINS is a multidisciplinary effort aimed at developing methodologies for scientific research on various aspects of the Internet.

NRCCL researchers are engaged in two of the EINS Working Groups: “Governance, Regulation and Standards” and “Internet Privacy and Identity, Trust and Reputation Mechanisms”. Our main contribution is elaborating various regulatory standards in Internet governance and analyzing how proposed EU data protection laws might impact on Internet processes.

Funding

EINS is funded by the European Commission under its 7th Framework Programme.
