This talk presents an overview AI regulatory regimes across the 10 ASEAN countries.
The European Draft Regulation on Artificial Intelligence was presented in April 2021 with ambitious aims: to be a far-reaching regulation aimed to guarantee the highest level of protection for ‘Union values, fundamental rights and principles’, and at the same time promote innovation.
The proposed Artificial Intelligence Act of the European Commission advances a by-design regulatory approach, akin to the principles of the GDPR. This approach assumes that in order to effectively shield human rights in the digital ecosystem it is necessary to incorporate ethical principles into the design of the system.
Assoc. Prof. Alessandro Mantelero is a Council of Europe Scientific Expert on Artificial Intelligence, data protection and human rights. In this webinar, he will give a glimpse on his book "Beyond Data. Human Rights, Ethical and Social Impact Assessment in AI" which will be published in the first part of 2022.
