About the project

There is a great need in society for research in tax law and for lawyers with high expertise in the field, both for public administration and courts, as well as for private and public entities.

To contribute to the creation of a larger academic community and more academic activity, the Faculty of Law in Oslo, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, KPMG, Deloitte Law Firm, and Ernst & Young Law Firm, established the Tax law project (Skatterett@jus), UiO. The purpose of the project is partly to be a platform for increased research and education in tax law, and partly to be a collaboration arena with public and private actors in the field.

The project has a duration of 10 years (2021-2031) and is led by the Department of Private Law. Professor Anders Mikelsen is responsible for the academic aspect of the project, and the doctoral research fellows Oskar Dybvik and Tobias Karopka Johansson are currently working on their PhD projects. Professor emeritus Arvid Aage Skaar and professor emeritus Frederik Zimmer are key participants in the project.

A new doctoral research fellow has been employed from 2025. If you are interested in writing a doctoral thesis in tax law, please contact Anders Mikelsen.
