European Journal of Criminology (EJC) will in 2013 publish a special issue on historical criminology.

EJC was established to support the growth of criminology in Europe and represents an important means for Europe to build its own criminological tradition. For the first time since its inception, EJC will devote its attention to work by scholars in the field of European historical criminology. By historical criminology, we include all historical studies relevant to current topics and discussions in the field of criminology, criminal law, the criminal sciences and the criminal justice system.

All the articles should concern themselves with countries/cities within the 'wider Europe'. Comparative papers are welcome. Strong preference will be given to papers related to the theme, broadly construed.

Abstracts are to be no longer than one A4 page, and should include the name and affiliation of the author (s).

Abstracts should be emailed to p.j.ystehede@jus.uio.no by Friday the 7th of September 2012.
