BEYOND PI appointed by Oxford University

BEYOND’s PI Professor Maja Janmyr has been appointed as a Research Associate at the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) in the Oxford Department of International Development.

The RSC was founded in 1982 and is a global leader in multidisciplinary research on forced migration. Janmyr’s appointment runs between November 2020 and August 2022, during which time she will directly collaborate with the RSC on research and teaching.

A world-class centre for the study of forced migration and refugees has been created at the University of Oxford. With its pioneering research and innovative education and training programmes, the Refugee Studies Centre has had a major constructive influence throughout the developed and developing world and has stimulated effective international networks.  - Royal Anniversary Trust, The Queen's Anniversary Prizes.

Recognition of Janmyr’s important work

The head of department of the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, Gentian Zyberi says that this appointment provides an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the centres in the field of refugee and migration law. He also adds that the appointment is a recognition of the important work done by Professor Janmyr in the field over many years.
