Associate Fellow at the Issam Fares Institute

As Associate Fellow at AUB's Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI), Professor Janmyr will work closely with the Refugee Research and Policy Program in the years ahead.

The program brings together local and international researchers with the aim of collecting, supporting and initiating research relevant to refugees. The program researchers are involved in several international and regional projects and networks, focusing on, among other issues, statelessness, externalization of migration control and health care.

Conducting research for the BEYOND and REF-ARAB project, Janmyr will be based at IFI during Spring 2023.

- I am happy to return to IFI and contribute to the policy-relevant work of the refugee research program, says Janmyr.

- I am also looking forward to collaborating with IFI on a number of events related to international refugee law and policy in Lebanon and the Middle East region, Janmyr continues.

Janmyr was previously an affiliated scholar at the Institute, publishing a widely cited working paper on the legal status of Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The paper can be accessed here on AUB's website.
