About the project
The project activities are as follows:
Analysis of risks and risk profiles in ethno-social context as a basis for knowledge-based public policies.
Specialized training for professionals working in the field of combating domestic violence and violence against women.
A targeted campaign to bring together representatives of the judiciary with representatives of Roma communities to formulate common goals and priorities in the fight against this phenomenon.
One of the University of Oslo’s main contribution to PROTECT is to summarize Norwegian experiences and contribute towards developing a risk analysis and a typology of risk groups
Objectives
The PROTECT project is aimed at increasing the capacity of the Bulgarian authorities in the field of combating domestic violence and violence against women. It will do so by synthesizing existing knowledge about risks and mitigators of such risks and use this for developing training and campaigns.

Training materials and campaign content.
Project period
The project will be finalized in 2023.

PROTECT is funded by Norway Grants.
Cooperation
This project follows from several former collaborations between the University of Oslo and Bulgarian institutions. The project partners are the Chamber of Investigators in Bulgaria and the Research & Training Point Foundation in Bulgaria.
