May-Len Skilbrei and Marlene Spanger have edited the book Understanding Sex for Sale: Meanings and Moralities of Sexual Commerce, published by Routledge. Together they have written the chapter "Speaking about sex for sale historically, spatially and politically". Skilbrei has also written the chapter "The 'normal' and the 'other' woman of prostitution policy debates: new concerns and solutions".
