Scharff Smith has written the chapter "Prisoners' Families, Public Opinion, and the State: Punishment and Society from a Family and Human Rights Perspective" and he has co-authored the chapter "The Sociology of Punishment and the Effects of Imprisonment on Families" with Rachel Condry.
