Research project
In her PhD project, Ida writes about arms transfer and state responsibility. She focuses on the international regulations governing government authorizations and licenses for arms export, especially in situations where there is a risk that the recipient will use the weapons in violation of international human rights or international humanitarian law. She works particularly with the UN Arms Trade Treaty and the EU's Common Position on arms export. She examines the practices of European-owned arms companies, related case law, and the international rules on state responsibility for internationally wrongful acts.
