Background
Tomas Midttun Tobiassen holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Oslo (2017) and a MA in Philosophy (2014). He worked three years at the Office of the Attorney General (Civil Affairs) as an associate and Attorney-at-Law, arguing cases on behalf of the Norwegian Government.
His PhD project studies the rights protections under the Norwegian Constitution, inter alia the relationship between law created by Parliament and the Courts.
Tomas has taught both philosophy and law at the University of Oslo, and the last couple of years he has taught Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, International Human Rights and Civil Procedure. He has published one book, Når myndighetene griper inn - En studie av legalitetsprinsippet i Høyesteretts praksis (in Norwegian).
Tomas is the Editorial Assistant to the Journal Lov og Rett.
Tomas is a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School in the Fall 2022 and until 31 January 2023, financed by the Fulbright Program.
