PluriCourts was funded by the Research Council of Norway through its Norwegian Centres of Excellence scheme for the period 2013 - 2023.

Partners

PluriCourts was hosted by the Department of Public International Law at the Faculty of law, UiO. It also maintained close cooperation with the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences, UiO, and the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas at the Faculty of Humanities, UiO.

Management and Administration

  • PluriCourts was co-directed by Andreas Føllesdal (professor of political philosophy) Geir Ulfstein (professor of law) for the entire period.
  • Coordinators were in charge of different sections of PluriCourt's research portfolio. Since 2013, the list of coordinators included: Freya Baetens, Cecilia Bailliet, Ole Kristian Fauchald, Siri Gloppen, Daniel Naurin, Christina Voigt, and Marlene Wind.
  • PluriCourts’ Scientific Advisory Committee consisted of leading judges and international scholars in the fields that were mandated to critically evaluate and advice on the centre’s scientific performance and progress. The advisory board was led by Karen Alter and then Beth Simmons. Members included

    Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen, Tom Ginsburg, Hilde Indreberg, Helen Keller, Andreas Paulus, Thomas Pogge, Kirsten Sandberg, Bruno Simma and John Tasioulas. 

  • On the administrative side, the centre has had the following leaders: Guro Frostestad, Øyvind Henden, Hanna Jarstø Ervik, Siri Johnsen, Elin Kaurstad, Aina Nessøe and Stephanie Schmölzer.
