Professor Klosse is one of the leading academics in the field of European social law, and director of the Social Law Section at the Department of Public Law at Maastricht University.

The question of how the current drive for flexibility in the labour market can be combined with adequate levels of income and employment security for all (potential) workers is a key topic of the European Employment and Flexicurity Strategy.

Klosse has in her research explored the legal implications of this topic, with a focus on the interaction between labour law, company law and social security law.

She has raised question of whether the legal framework for collective labour law agreements is in need of a revision, particularily in view of the growing interest of employers to define the terms of employment at the company level and the decreasing interest of workers to join with the trade unions. Simultanously there is the need of ensuring vulnerable groups, migrant workers and old age, effective support to enter and progress in the labour market.

The guest lecture is open to all. Welcome!

The lecture is part of the conference "Labour Law and Social Security Law - The Netherlands and Norway". To register for the entire conference, see conference web page:
