Guest Lecture with The Georgian-Norwegian Rule Of Law Association

The Department of Public and International Law and the Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association invite to a seminar on Georgian and Norwegian law. Main presenters are doctoral researchers Giorgi Giorgadze and Teimuraz Antelava.

The seminar is divided into two main parts:

13.30-14.30:

“The Georgian ombudsman – as a human rights institution”

Giorgi Giorgadze, doctoral researcher in criminal procedure law, senior project officer Council of Europe to the project aiming at strengthening institutional capacity of ombudsman's office of Georgia, President of The Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association.

14.30-15.45:

“The Impact of Legal Culture on the National Modernization Projects: Deriving Some General Findings from Juxtaposing the Modernization of Norway (1814-1980s) and Georgia (1801-present)”

Teimuraz Antelava, doctoral researcher in international legal theory at the European University Institute, Florence Director for Public International Law at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. Read the abstract of Antelava's presentation here.
