The Journal of Common Market Studies, in celebration for its 50th anniversary, asked a jury of esteemed academics to shortlist the best articles in JCMS of the past 50 years (five articles per decade). Føllesdal and Hix's article was shorlisted, and through public vote was chosen as the best article of the 2002-2011 decade.
The result was announced at the UACES Annual Conference on September 3 in Passau, Germany.
