The Department of Public and International Law at the University of Oslo invite you to participate at the conference "Sexual Freedom, Equality and the Right to Gender Identity as a Site of Legal and Political Struggles" in Oslo 11 - 12 December 2014.

Programme

The programme is built up around the main aim of the conference, which is to explore how the conception of gender as social, plural and fluid is negotiated in international, regional and national legal discourses.

Information about the Conference

The conference is organized by the research group "Individuals, Rights, Culture and Society" and The Institute of Women’s Law, Child Law and Discrimination Law at the Department of Public and International Law, in cooperation with The Equality and Anti-discrimination ombud of Norway.

The conference is part of the research project "Gender identity and sexual orientation in international and national (Norwegian) law" led by Professor Anne Hellum and funded by the Research Council of Norway under the FRISAM program.
