The seminar will discuss the legal and geopolitical engagement of the EU in the Arctic with a focus on the environment. The interest of the EU in the region has grown over time as a result of the economic opportunities opened up by global warming. In this context, environment is the driving force behind the EU's legal and geopolitical strategies for a deeper involvement in the Arctic affairs.
