The main objective of the training programme is to build capacity of law enforcement, and members of the judiciary in ASEM Partner countries on the evidence-based and human rights-compliant Investigative Interviewing technique and its associated safeguards.

Two Vietnamese academics were invited by NCHR and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights to attend an intensive training on Universal Periodic Review held in connection with the review of Vietnam before the UN Human Rights Council.

After two years of digital teaching, the NCHR invited scholars and practitioners from all over the world to join us in Oslo for the annual Intensive Course on Human Rights. A week of intensive learning, network building, and exchange of experiences engaged and inspired participants and organizers alike.

A group of selected judges from across Indonesia attended human rights training at the NCHR at the end of February. Cold days in Oslo were filled with intensive lectures and discussions, to ensure a continued strengthening of human rights standards within Indonesia's judiciary.

The NCHR and partners recently organized a conference presenting two reports, focusing on the existing curricula on human rights at Bulgarian universities, and the introduction of human rights in mandatory legal curriculum in Bulgaria.

Twelve academics from China, Cuba, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia and Vietnam were invited by the NCHR and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights to attend the co-organised, fifth training on the UN Human Rights Mechanisms in Geneva 6-10 May.

The NCHR has since 2017 supported Norwegian experts to teach in the annual Human Rights Summer School at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). This summer, NCHR director Professor Bård A. Andreassen and NCHR Professor Gentian Zyberi gave online lectures in the Summer School from 7-15 July.

The 4th Regional Network Meeting on Human Rights Education was held virtually from November until December 2020, with a particular focus on access to remedies in the context of business, human rights and the environment.

On 8.-12. November, a training workshop on the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Mechanisms took place in Geneva, Switzerland. Over the week, five participants from Thailand deepened their knowledge of the UN Human Rights Mechanisms, focusing on the Universal Periodic Review.

12 academics from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam gathered in Geneva, Switzerland for the annual training on UN human rights mechanisms. The workshop, jointly organized by the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights and Geneva Academy, aims to strengthen civil society by equipping academics with in depth knowledge of how to utilize the UN human rights mechanisms in their home countries.
