More than 100 participants gathered in Beirut, Lebanon, to discuss human rights standards in Lebanese personal status laws. The seminar were facilitated by the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, together with Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace (LFPCP), as a closing event of the six-months’ pilot project “Fostering Human Rights in Lebanese Religious Courts”. This is the first human rights related project working directly with the actors of the religious courts.

On the 7th December the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights hosted the Annual seminar on business and human rights as a part of the Oslo Peace Days. The annual seminar on business and human rights gives an opportunity for all stakeholders to come together and discuss the business and human rights field. This year, the panel was represented by academia, government, and civil society.

It examines how local authorities and civil society organizations can cooperate in human rights localization processes, where local and subnational contexts are included and considered when implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
