New Chinese book about Business and Human Rights

A new NCHR supported Chinese book about Business and Human Rights in the UN System was launched in Beijing on 16 December.

The book is written by Dr. Liang Xiaohui and has forewords by Professor John Ruggie and Professor Asbjorn Eide. Dr. Liang is the Chief Researcher at the office for Social responsibilities at the China National Textile and Apparel Council. He is also Adjunct Professor at Peking University Law School.

The booklaunch was held at Peking University. The book gives a comprehensive overview of issues surrounding business and human rights in the UN and it will be useful for various Chinese stakeholder such as teachers, scholars, practitioners and government officials. The book marks the start of a larger scale NCHR engagement with business and human rights issues in China in the years to come involving both education and research activities.
