Dr. Herlambang P. Wiratraman is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Constitutional Law and Director at the Center of Human Rights Law Studies at Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga. In November he received the bi-annual Muh. Yamin Constitution Award, an award acknowledging the best scientific writing on constitutional law studies in Indonesia.
Academic freedom
Dr. Herlambang was a guest researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) International Department from in Autumn 2018.
During his stay in Oslo, he focused his researches on academic freedom and ideological stigmatization. He also convened a seminar titled “Indonesia 20 Years after the Fall of Suharto” together with HE Prof. Dr. Todung Mulia Lubis, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Norway and Iceland and, Knut D. Asplund, Indonesia expert, Head of Rule of Law from NCHR’s International Department.
His research in Oslo resulted in four publications, including two book chapter articles on Academic Freedom, Neo-Feudalism and Oppression to Human Rights and Dual Citizenship Rights Constitutionalism in Indonesia's Legal System, one journal article on The Legal-Political Development of Indigenous Court, and an article in the national newspaper, Media Indonesia titled Strengthening Academic Freedom Tradition.
