Lecturing at Human Rights Summer School in China

Invited by the Institute for Human Rights at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Special Adviser Petter Wille from the National Human Rights Institution in Norway visited Beijing 8-13 July.

During his stay in China, Petter Wille lectured at the human rights summer school at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He held lectures on the UN Treaty Body System and about Human Rights in Norway with a focus on national human rights law, the role of the courts, the ombudsman system and civil society in Norway.

This course attracts more than 40 participants from 17 universities across China, including undergraduates, postgraduates, Ph.D. candidates and teachers from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wuhan University and Southwest University of Political Science and Law.  

This is the third time the NCHR supports a Norwegian expert to present at the Human Rights Summer School at CUPL. The resource persons invited to this summer school are all well-known experts and scholars, with long teaching and practical experience in the field of international human rights.
