To mark the International Women’s Day on Monday 8 March, the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) would like to point to our Chinese partners important work towards gender equality in China. Raising awareness about domestic violence in China, contributing to better education on gender and human rights in Chinese universities and publication of the first Chinese textbook on gender and human rights are some of the achievements our Chinese partners have made with the support of the NCHR. 

NCHR contributes to Fusion Cells Study Visits Initiative initiated by the United Nations Office on Counter Terrorism (UNOCT). 

With the aim to train lawyers in making more effective human rights claims in court, an online workshop on human rights litigation is held in cooperation with the Indonesian Legal Aid foundation.

The 4^th Regional Network Meeting on Human Rights Education was held virtually from November until December 2020, with a particular focus on access to remedies in the context of business, human rights and the environment.

Ambassador Mona Juul states the importance of non-coercive, human rights-compliant intel-gathering during Security Council meeting on Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts. 

The 4^th Lecturer Workshop on Teaching Human Rights in Southeast Asia took place as a weekly virtual event between 31 August – 7 December 2020.

9-13 November, academics from China, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia deepen their knowledge and expertise of the United Nations (UN) human rights mechanisms. 

The main objective of the training programme is to build capacity of law enforcement, and members of the judiciary in ASEM Partner countries on the evidence-based and human rights-compliant Investigative Interviewing technique and its associated safeguards.
