Long-standing Partner

- The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights is a long-standing partner that works broadly with different international actors to promote academic freedom, says the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt. - I am happy to continue the partnership to enhance knowledge about universal human rights, whether through education and cooperation with academia in countries such as China and Nigeria, or training of practitioners in countries like Brazil, Indonesia, and Ukraine.

The International Department at NCHR has extensive experience promoting human rights through competence building and knowledge enhancement in several partner countries.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ragnhild Hennum, congratulates the Centre on the new agreement.
- The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights is one of few who works internationally with human rights education at the university level. The academic foundation gives a unique perspective to this work, says the Dean.

Looking Forward

In a time with a global backlash against human rights, the renewal of the agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is vital in continuing international partnerships in the coming years. The Centre is looking forward to the new project period.

Thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its continuous support and appreciation of our work!

Signing of contract
The agreement for 2024-2026 was signed in Kollegieværelset at the Faculty of Law, under the historic 1853 pendulum clock that has been running without pause since its installment. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Faculty of Law, and NCHR were present during the signing.
