Academic interests and background
Ellen Vrålstad is a master's student of Theory and Practice of Human Rights at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Law. She works as a research assistant at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR).
Ellen is particularly interested in human rights, migration and EU migration policy, and is writing her thesis on human rights in the context of instrumentalization of migrants, focusing on the situation that ensued at the borders between Belarus and EU in 2021. This thesis project receives support from the research project Deporting Foreigners: Contested Norms in International Practice (NORMS).
