Building the capacity of Bulgarian universities in human rights legal education

The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) is working with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice to build the capacity of Bulgarian universities in human rights legal education.

Contact persons

The project's overall aim is to improve the Bulgarian judiciary's application of the European Human Rights framework. In achieving this aim, the NCHR will work with the "Procedural Representation of Republic of Bulgaria before the European Court of Human Rights" Directorate at the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and the New Bulgarian University to strengthen university education in international and regional human rights law.

Funding

Norad recently awarded funding for a project to strengthen higher education institutions’ ability to provide high-quality research and teaching. The NCHR will collaborate with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and five other leading academic institutions.
