LLM Domenico Zipoli ved Norsk senter for menneskerettigheter vil forsvare sin avhandling for graden Ph.d: The Power of Engagement: Assessing the Effectiveness of Cooperation between UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies and National Human Rights Institutions

Domenico Zipoli at Norwegian Centre for Human Rights will give a trial lecture on the prescribed topic, entitled: Tracking the impact of the UN human rights system on the domestic level - benefits and pitfalls.

5 week digital course for Asian civil society organisations on intersectional discrimination with a particular focus on people with disabilities and issues surrounding sexual orientation and gender identities (SOGI)

This event was part of Oslo Peace Days 2020 and focused on pertinent global challenges, including human rights accountability, countering climate change, managing migration, and dealing with organizational challenges of the United Nations (UN).

The Norwegian Center for Human Rights (NCHR) and the Norwegian Human Rights Fund (NHRF) have the pleasure of inviting key institutions and individuals to strategize on how to advance the agenda on the Right to Defend Rights and support to human rights defenders in the frontline.

Barnerettighetsdagen skal være en møteplass for dem som aktivt jobber med barn og unges rettigheter i hverdagen. Dette gjelder både akademikere, beslutningstagere og praktikere. Deltagerne på barnerettighetsdagen skal få et enda mer bevisst forhold til barnekonvensjonen, slik at de i sitt arbeid kan gjøre en forskjell for barn og unge.

The title for Mr. Lynks presentation is: Responsibilities for addressing human rights violations in the OPT (Occupied Palestinian Territory): The Occupant (Israel), the Occupied (PA), the High Contracting Parties (to the Geneva Conventions), UN treaty bodies. Guest lecture by William Banks. Brandes was known as the "Father of the Modern Breakthrough" for his influence on Scandinavian writers, including Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, in the late nineteenth century. A prominent writer, thinker and speaker, he often examined intellectual topics beyond the literary criticism he was best known for. From Brandes, we have the concept of "putting issues under debate"/ "å sette problemer under debatt".

In this guest lecture Carmen Pavel will speak about the importance of evaluating the justifiability of the Security Council - the only institution who can authorize the use of force at the international level in cases other than self-defense, and has important duties to protect human rights in situations of humanitarian crises.
